So How Can These EFT Games Be Used? Sometimes, finding the focus and words can be the hardest part of doing EFT.
|
The goal of the I've Got Feelings! Feel Better with EFT Games™ is to give you and your children a playful friend to
help you use Emotional Freedom Techniques to clear the daily negative aspects of your lives. Follow and tap with
the "Hard To Watch" Taproot first to help clear your own negative feelings about how your child feels. Follow the
game yourself first to get an idea of how to help your child play it ahead of time. Try not to lead their answers. Let
them use their own words and honor them and their feelings. Help them find their energy spots as you play the
game.
Choosing to use these story/games is a true lifetime gift to your child/grandchild/student. Gently assisting children
as they explore their own emotions and channeling them down the path of the games helps them learn to use EFT
in daily situations. The younger you teach EFT, the more apt they are to incorporate it permanently into their lives.
Like brushing their teeth, it’s a self-maintenance tool.
During the day: As events happen in your life with children, allow them to see you tapping on yourself. (You
stubbed your toe, you're frustrated with the bills, you just burned dinner, you’re not happy with their behavior right
now, whatever comes up that makes you uncomfortable.) Ask them if they would like help tapping on things that
happened during the day. Get out the image inside the CD or DVD case and put it on the wall or somewhere they
can find easily. Anything you can do to assist their use of EFT on everything that makes them uncomfortable will
encourage them to use it on their own. Once you notice them using it praise them gently. Build your own EFT
library and let them explore it with you and on their own. Pick an I've Got Feelings! Game™ or story with your child
when an emotional event has happened that can relate to it somehow.
As a surrogate: Tapping on a stuffed animal while focusing on an issue can help children who don't want to talk
about their own stuff. SO...have them tap for the characters or use their favorite stuffed toy and tap along with the
game. Use a Meridian Puppet or a Tappy Bear. You could also use the Magic Spots image from this website. Feel
free to print it out, or use the image inside the games case to tap on. Using this technique sometimes can feel
safer for them.
In the morning: Play the story/game when they first get up to help prepare them for their day. Is there a problem
at school; on the bus; with a class; a test; a friend; a peer; an animal? What's happening in their lives right now,
that makes them uncomfortable? Helping them to release the negative images they have around something can
change the outcome dramatically. For the better.
Naptime and Bedtime: Help your child relax and feel comfortable about resting and recharging. Use the
story/games at bedtime to help children relax or to overcome fear of the dark or let go of negative events of the
day. Encouraging children to access their own issues is the reason for the blanks in the character's lines. Let your
child tell you what they think the character is feeling or use their own feelings. .
If you are working with your child and an EFT story/game or other form of EFT and they suddenly become bored,
or yawn, you probably have succeeded in clearing an uncomfortable aspect of what was bothering them. Yawning
and sighing are common signs of energy release. Be sure to test the intensity of the specific issue. Look for a new
aspect of the same issue to work with or let EFT rest for now. Watch their behaviors. Have things changed in how
they are reacting to something they were working on? Often, when emotions clear, we forget we even had the
problem.
